Mattress sizes and formats

The plan below gives standard industry bed sizes in the USA (and North America) for all mass produced beds and mattresses in inches. These sizes are of course for standard units only and many manufacturers produce additional sizes and sometimes different shaped (e.g. round) beds and mattresses.

UK mattress sizes in feet and inches are given below.

Single - 2ft 6in by 6ft 3in

Standard single - 2ft 6in by 6ft 3in

Small double - 4ft by 6ft 3in

Double - 4ft 6in by 6ft 6in

Kingsize - 6ft by 6ft 6in

Both kingsize and super king are 3 inches longer than single and double bed variants. A superking is 1 foot (or 12 inches), and not 6 inches, longer than a kingsize.
